James Cooper

Hi, I’m James - Founder of Rocket Science Music and former Head of Sync at Sony Music Publishing.

I’ve worked on numerous sync deals for brands including Pepsi, Audi, John Lewis, Jaguar, Nike and Adidas to name a few. I’ve also had the privilege of working with some of the most iconic artists, songwriters and catalogues including The Beatles, David Bowie, Motown, Oasis, Blur Queen, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Arctic Monkeys and many more.

Alongside roles at both major and independent music companies and in the media, I’ve spent years teaching music industry courses, speaking on panels, and consulting with startups, artists, songwriters, and those looking to break into the business.

With over 20 years’ experience in music publishing, sync, and supervision, I look forward to sharing my passion for this dynamic part of the industry with you throughout the course or on a one-to-one consultancy session.
